Restaurant Rotation

Posted on January 20, 2024January 20, 2024 By David A. Sherman

It was waaaay back in 2007 that Great Falls was introduced to two new restaurants – Chili’s and Macaroni Grill – over in the Great Falls Marketplace area.

Macaroni Grill didn’t last very long; I don’t recall ever eating there.

Soon, though, it was replaced by Shoot The Moon.

At some point, Shoot The Moon adopted the name Moonshine Grill – think it had something to do with a similarly-named restaurant in another state.

We enjoyed the Moonshine Grill – good food, decent atmosphere, nice service.

Here’s a photo of some “Red Hat” ladies enjoying a meal at Moonshine:

And Moonshine tables were covered with paper and they gave you crayons! Here’s some of the Red Hat creations:

I guess “Scarlett Doo Dahs” was the name of this Red Hats chapter.

But it didn’t last – and was replaced in 2018 with Black Bear Diner. It was decent – the decor was fun, good variety of menu items.

The food (for me) was average – decent, but not great.

Very “bear-y” and woodsy decor.

They served up some tasty pies and pastries!

The menu was kind of fun, too.

Black Bear Diner closed a few weeks ago – and there’s no word yet on what might take its place.

As for Chili’s – still here! Love their chips and queso.
