Fireworks in Great Falls - July 4, 2022

BOOM!

Another Independence Day in Great Falls! Watching the fireworks was cool – they are amazing and bright and sparkly and just delightful.

The official city fireworks display went from about 10:28 p.m. until 10:44 p.m. They were fun to watch.

But that display was dwarfed by the number of fireworks all across town that ran mostly from about 9:30ish until about 11:30 or so.

While they were cool to see, listening to them was…yuck. Almost painful. This was definitely the noisiest Independence Day I’ve ever experienced.

Scared the heck out of Ziggy, who finally took refuge in a closet after our attempts to soothe and/or distract him failed.

Here’s a video from the deck at about 10:10 p.m.

One very positive note for this year: there were ZERO fireworks-related calls for Great Falls Fire Rescue, thanks to some mild-to-heavy rain that fell earlier in the afternoon and into the evening.

I’m sure when it started raining, firefighters across the Great Falls and beyond breathed a big sigh of relief.
