Dona Stebbins, November 2005

RIP, Dona

Posted on April 29, 2024April 29, 2024 By David A. Sherman

Very sad news – Dona Stebbins passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. She served as mayor of Great Falls for four years.

I attended her election-night party in November 2005 – here are some cellphone photos (yes, such was the quality of phone photos nearly 20 years ago):

Being interviewed for TV:

Dona’s husband Grant:

Ready for her close-up:

I didn’t know her well, but we connected over our shared love of Great Falls, and enjoyed lunch together a few times and enjoyed running into each other occasionally – civic events, grocery store, etc.

And in 2007, my father came to visit Great Falls – Dona was kind enough to make him feel like a “big shot” – lunch with the mayor at Bert & Ernie’s! And yes, that’s me standing behind them in my pre-facial hair days 🙂

My sincere condolences to Grant and all of Dona’s loved ones.
