We checked out the Panera that opened a few weeks ago in Great Falls – and really liked it! Never had Panera, so I was really looking forward to giving it a shot.
It’s at 1322 10th Avenue South, where JB’s restaurant stood for many years. The new building looks great, and there’s plenty of parking in the back. There is also a drive-through!
It was just a bit disorienting when we first walked in, but we quickly realized that there are four (?) self-ordering kiosks along the wall to your left. I suppose you can also walk up to the counter to order.
The ordering was relatively simple – and you really can fine-tune and customize just about everything.

The staff was super-friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant – enjoyed the fireplace in the dining area!
I opted for a sesame bagel and some mac-and-cheese (with bacon bits) – both very good. My wife had a sandwich and soup, which she enjoyed. We also took home a large baguette (yum). Next time I will bring home a second baguette to feed the birds outside.
And good news – Panera is already available on DoorDash 🙂
Yeah, we will definitely be heading back.
Panera joins a growing list of new restaurants in Great Falls:
- Xochitl restaurant (haven’t tried yet)
- Texas Roadhouse (haven’t tried yet)
- Pomodoro (loved it!!!)
- Little Light Coffee (donuts are tasty!)
