Coming Soon: La Cocina Restaurante

Posted on August 28, 2022September 3, 2022 By David In Great Falls

Hooray! Opening soon in Great Falls is La Cocina Restaurante. It is “rising from the ashes,” in a way, from the former Fiesta En Jalisco.

Fiesta En Jalisco – in the NE corner of the mall parking lot – closed a few weeks ago. We were sad – it was pretty good – I thought it was the best Mexican food in town – and it had some really fun decor.

As I understand it, the managers of Fiesta are behind the creation of La Cocina, which is in the former Fox Farm Diner at 1709 Alder Drive (behind Dairy Queen), and which used to be a Chinese restaurant for many years.

They say they plan to open in September – no exact date yet.

The exterior hasn’t changed much yet – but there is a new sign:

But on the inside – La Cocina has been posting pix of the interior re-design, and it looks pretty awesome:

As for the old Fiesta location – I’ve seen some online rumors that the owners of the regional chain plan on re-opening it, but nothing concrete or specific.

Here is my mini-tribute to Fiesta:
