Well, they had a good run – looks like Fiesta En Jalisco is no more, though – it closed within the last few days.
The Mexican restaurant was in the building on the northeast corner of the mall parking lot. I don’t recall exactly when it opened – when I arrived in Great Falls in 2002, that building was still the Apple Mill Grill. The first time I ate at Fiesta was in July 2007.
Waaaaaaay back when I was a teen, I worked at a regional franchise in Oklahoma called El Chico – good food, and a fun place to start my “working” life.
The food and the atmosphere at Fiesta kind of reminded me of El Chico. Definitely the most “authentic” Tex-Mex I’ve had in Great Falls – their nachos were the best.
If you’ve got a really serious craving for Fiesta, you can drive over to Missoula 🙂 or a few other towns that have one.
And if you’ve wondered: Jalisco is the name of a state in Mexico, so I’ve always figured that “Fiesta En Jalisco” is the equivalent of “Party In Montana” (or state of your choice).
Here’s a little tribute video to Fiesta:
