My wife asked me today if I remembered what restaurants have occupied the space at 220 Central Avenue.

She recalled that it was a Sambo’s restaurant way back in the 70s and maybe 80s. Apparently there were TWO Sambo’s in Great Falls, at least in 1975 – downtown and on 10th Avenue South.

When I arrived in Great Falls in 2002, it was Portofino’s. I ate there at least once and it was pretty good.

In August 2006, it was Rio Ranch Grill. It lasted until about March 2007, and I ate there twice, if memory serves. I really liked the decor 🙂

Eventually it became Sedgie’s – never managed to visit. I believe Sedgie was the name of the chef and he had a pretty good reputation in town.

Then it was the Tap House Grill – nope, never ate there.

And in 2020, it became Harvest Craft Kitchen – which I haven’t tried yet, but may one day.

So – anyone know what was there between Sambo’s and Portofino’s?
