Eddie’s Supper Club in Great Falls, Montana. It opened decades ago at the corner of 2nd Avenue North and 38th Street.
It closed in June 2017 when the owners decided to retire. I really miss it. Dining there with my wife was truly special.
It was truly retro – in the best possible way. The piano bar was magical.

My default, of course, was a big campfire steak. My wife usually opted for rainbow trout, but sometimes enjoyed a burger.
And you simply couldn’t eat at Eddie’s without enjoying some toasted ravs!

A few days after Eddie’s closed, they sold some of the interior stuff. The daughter of the owner told us that a man from Central Montana drove to Great Falls to buy – seriously – the booth that he and his wife had sat in many, many times over the years!
And we were fortunate to be able to buy the cool sheep picture!
Anecdote: Back in (about) 2010, I was talking to my father (who lived in Texas) on the phone. He was visiting an old friend named Arnie – they were both flight surgeons in the Air Force going back to the 1960s. I mentioned dining at Eddie’s, and my dad (as dads do) was relaying to Arnie what I was saying – and Arnie recalled a wonderful meal he had at Eddie’s back in 1968 or 1969 when he was visiting Malmstrom Air Force Base. NICE. Remembering a delicious meal from 40 years ago!
Ah, Eddie’s – thank you for the wonderful memories (and delicious food).
(PS – the location is now the Portage Supper Club – haven’t been yet, but heard pretty good things about it)
