I’ve seen a few people posting about their year-in-review Spotify songs, and some Reddit users’ year-in-review summaries…I don’t have either of those, but I do have a year-in-review of my coffee!
Most of you know that I am a coffee drinker (understatement). For years, my daily consumption was two 10-shot espressos from Starbucks, and when City Brew opened near my house, I switched over. I loved City Brew, and they loved me 🙂 I even got a Christmas gift basket from City Brew HQ last year!
But once COVID hit, City Brew (like many other businesses) had to adjust its hours. And I began working from home – didn’t have to swing by City Brew on my way to or from work.
So I decided to once again begin making my coffee at home. A few years ago, I had a Verismo from Starbucks for a few months, and it was pretty cool – but for some reason, it was sometimes hard to keep the espresso pods in stock – from the stores in town and also the SBX website – so I gave up on it.
So back in July 2020, I decided to try a Nespresso machine – and after experimenting with a few of the coffee and espresso options, eventually settled on Double Espresso Scuro pods – yum!
Here is the description: “Dark & Bold – Double Espresso Scuro is a highly roasted blend made from Central American Robusta and Arabicas.”
And here is what my “Vertuo” coffeemaker looks like – I love the design.
A few days ago, Nespresso sent me a “year in review” which reveals how much coffee I consumed…
Well, I’ll let you do the math on how many pods I go through each day 🙂
I still drive through City Brew occasionally – once I ran out of pods before my next shipment arrived, and my wife enjoys an Iced White Chocolate Mocha every now and then.
