We have been using Instacart regularly for a couple of years, and been very happy with the service – excellent delivery times, usually good substitutions if needed.
One time, we received someone else’s order – but caught the delivery driver just in time so she could take the groceries to their proper home.
But today was a new one – a message popped up saying our groceries had been delivered. I was on a Zoom meeting, so couldn’t run out to grab the groceries for a few minutes.
When I did open the front door, I saw…nothing. Odd. Ah – once in a while, a delivery driver (UPS, DoorDash, etc) drops stuff off at our garage door on the other side of the house. So I looked there, and saw…nothing. Very odd!
Then I checked our home video cameras and saw…nothing again! No delivery driver, no groceries.
So I initiated a messaging chat with Instacart, and as they looked into it, I pulled up the order on my desktop – and saw this “delivery confirmation” photo:
Well, that looks like the right order – but that is not our house!
Instacart said they would credit me for the order, and were very polite and helpful.
I’m not even really upset – just baffled 😀
SO – if this is your house, I guess you just got some free groceries – enjoy!
