Too often, I see people complain that there is “nothing to do” in Great Falls – and not only does it raise my blood pressure, it’s also wrong.
Absolutely, 100%, completely, utterly, truly wrong. There is SO MUCH to do in Great Falls. And by “to do,” I mean places, businesses, and agencies where people can go do stuff – sometimes purely for fun, sometimes educational, sometimes fascinating – or any mixture of the three.
So let’s take a look at some of the things people can do in Great Falls, shall we? Note that some of these things are seasonal/weather dependent.
Mini Golf: check out Valley View Garden Golf at 1405 9th Street NW. Not only fun – but also a beautiful place.

Axe Throwing: literally, you can throw an axe at Carved Axe Throwing located at 1900 4th Street NE.

Virtual Reality: yep, you can get virtual at Chase Your Dreams VR at 316 Central Avenue.

Children’s Museum of Montana: This place is COOL. If you have kids, it’s a must-visit. And if you don’t have kids – it’s still fun to check it out! Lots of hands-on fun “stations,” such as an airplane cockpit, a general store, dress-up, and much more. Located at 22 Railroad Square behind the Civic Center.

History Museum: Yep, it’s got history – some fun and occasionally quirky exhibits. I can practically guarantee you will find something of interest. And of course there is a gift store! Located at 422 2nd Street South.

Paris Gibson Square: A really cool place to visit – modern art, unusual art, funky exhibits. Located at 1400 1st Avenue North.

Roller Skating: Strap on your quads or your inline skates and go for it at Wheels of Thunder! Located at 1609 12th Avenue North. They also host parties, and have an arcade.

Kaboom! So many things under one roof – arcade, “ninja” course, laser tag, snacks. Located at 901 9th Street North.

Farmers’ Market: Pretty awesome, something for everyone. Every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. – from June through the last Saturday of September.

Escape Room: Yep, we have Escape The Falls. They have several rooms. Worth checking out! It’s at 511 Central Avenue.

Nursery: spend some time enjoying the flowers and plants at a nursery – for instance, check out The Flower Farm at 1500 5th Avenue SW.

Climbing: Want to climb, but not a mountain? Check out the Hi-Line Climbing Center at 608 1st Ave South.

Dog Park: This is a happy place – even if you don’t have a dog! Just watching the puppers running and chasing each other is fun! It’s at 800 River Drive North.

Skate Park: officially named the Riverside Railyard Skate Park. If skateboarding is your thing, check it out at 500 River Drive North. From the city website: “The park features a series of bowls, including one with a nine foot depth, a full pipe, half pipes, a clamshell and a street course with ledges, grind rails, grind boxes and steps. Best of all, it’s free for all skateboarders, inline skaters and roller skaters.”

Electric City Water Park: Splish splash! Water slides, Lazy River, Riptide Slide, Mitchell Pool, Kersplash Climbing Wall, and more – at 100 River Drive South.

WHEW. OK, that’s just SOME of the things to do in Great Falls. I will post more stuff soon.
