The Missouri River Diner is on the move! They announced yesterday that are moving in September – but where?
Originally – on Thursday – they announced they are moving to a new location. Their original post named the location, but on Sunday, they removed the original post, and made a new post that says “Ms.Julie (Sangsoon) will move her restaurant in September!! We will have a new location in Great Falls ( we will announce it soon ).”
What changed? I don’t know.
ALSO – they are changing their name – which is cool for two reasons. First, they won’t be located on the Missouri River anymore 🙂
Second, the name reflects the shift they’ve made over the last two years: A & K Diner, which means American & Korean!
Yep – a couple of years ago they began adding Korean food to the menu, and it gets RAVE reviews from my wife and my friend Keeley (who are both experts on the subject!).
I said at the time: “Now let’s be clear – I know basically nothing about Korean food, and don’t eat it. But my wife absolutely LOVES it, and she gave it two thumbs-up, rave reviews, four stars, top grade, etc. And my co-worker Keeley, who also absolutely loves Korean food, tried it out a few days ago, and she too couldn’t stop raving about it!”
As for the American side – yep, good stuff – their burgers are awesome, breakfast is delicious, and their French fries are among the best in town.
For a few years, we were there at least two or three times a month, and always enjoyed the food AND the super-friendly service.
And the diner also has “expanded” – they added an outdoor dining patio a little more than a year ago.
As for what will happen to the current Missouri River Diner building – don’t know. It’s a great location, and with the new Independence Bank and True Brew opening up later this month right next to it, that space is well-suited for…something cool and fun, I’d wager.
