Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle

Posted on March 25, 2022March 25, 2022 By David In Great Falls

October 2007 – stopped in Seeley Lake on the way to Bigfork.

There was some sort of event happening – can’t recall what it was, but there was a biologist with a rehabbing eagle on display.

Me: “Can I pet the eagle?”
What the biologist said: “No, we don’t recommend it.”

The eagle had large talons

What the biologist thought to himself: “Sure, you idiot – go for it, you don’t need all of your fingers, right?”

IN MY DEFENSE – I had never before been up close to an eagle, and I guess maybe that I assumed since it was “leashed” and under supervision that it might be OK…? Hey, didn’t hurt to ask!

Beautiful bird!

And yes, wife and I enjoyed a meal at Lindey’s – it was amazing!
