Part of my falling-asleep routine is scanning Reddit – checking out /GreatFalls, /Montana, /TIL, /Jeopardy, among others – and also /Conspiracy.
The reasons for the first several are likely obvious to you – things I love and appreciate learning more about.
But Conspiracy – that one is a sometimes fascinating, frequently bizarre, even occasionally funny collection of what are often thought of as “conspiracy theories.”
Frequent topics include rumors of World War III (gonna happen any day!); Covid (government plot!); Jews (control everything!); UFOs (disclosure any day now!); 5G (infecting everyone!); FEMA (gonna round us all up!); chemtrails (making us sick!); and other such nonsense.
But last night there was a Conspiracy post that I never thought I would see: something about Great Falls!
Yep – someone claims that the director of the Great Falls Community Food Bank is…ready for this? He is selling illegal drugs at work. And not just that – he is also injecting drugs into donated food that is given to clients! And the source of the drugs? Well of course his wife, who works at a Great Falls hospital!
That’s all according to “lopsided welcome 905” (don’t look him up, trust me) as seen in this screenshot:
Now, I believe that most of the people that post in the subreddit honestly believe their utterly bizarre claims – but some of them, possibly, are deliberately trolling or just trying to antagonize people or trigger some equally wacky responses.
Which category does that post fall into? I’m leaning toward deliberate troll on this one.
And when I looked for the post today, it isn’t there.
And to be clear: I don’t believe there is a shred of truth to any of it. To the best of my knowledge, the director of the food bank is an honest man with integrity who is very committed to helping people in our community.
So…Great Falls in Conspiracy. It didn’t last long, but it happened.
