First – well, that didn’t take long – the 380,000 Montana Millionaire tickets sold out in just FIVE HOURS this morning. That works out to about 76,000 tickets sold per hour, or 1,267 tickets per minute.

Fortunately, I made it to a kwik-e-mart with just minutes to spare and bought two tickets. If one of our tickets wins, I will throw a huge pizza party for all of you!

To compare – last year there were only 280,000 tickets, and they sold out in 29 hours.

Second, a huge thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday on Monday – very much appreciated! My amazing wife surprised me with some Mondrian-themed shoes:

AND a very cool “DIY” Mondrian set!

If you’re wondering – Piet Mondrian was an artist from The Netherlands – his “geometric” pieces have always made me happy. If you’re of a certain age, this type of art might trigger flashbacks to the iconic bus used by The Partridge Family 🙂 .

And some sad restaurant news – Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar said on Facebook that it is shutting down in a few days: “It is with a mixture of sadness and gratitude that we write to you today. After 16 wonderful years of serving our beloved community, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors permanently.” The owner also commented: “A great opportunity came our way and another great restaurant is on its way. 🙂” It’s located along 7th Street South just off of 10th Avenue South. They had a pretty good run!

According to Jenn over at The Electric, the Boston’s building will eventually become an Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom – it’s a Colorado-based chain that has dozens of locations, including Missoula, Billings, and Bozeman. Looks pretty tasty!

Also – I have not directly been able to confirm yet – but it looks like the Portage Supper Club may have closed, too. Tiffany Borger posted: “The Portage will be closing on 10/29/2023. The owners are on a new adventure. But they still own the Montana Sub Shop!! Give them a great send off and pack their house tomorrow. They are very good people.”

But on a more positive note – Great Falls now has a Chipotle and a Rib & Chop House, and Qdoba is set to open on Friday – details here.

As Tom Wylie so eloquently memed:

Watch out Bozeman and Missoula, Great Falls is coming for that "foodie capital of MT" title. https://t.co/Ab5MVE9F7K pic.twitter.com/UEpShcD75U
