Spuds!

Sometimes, as I am eating a potato (mashed, fried, chip, etc), I say out loud to my wife, “Potatoes are magic…”

I mean…potatoes are SO VERSATILE! The most recent occasion where I said it was on Saturday, as we were eating at the Backroads Bar & Grill (formerly the Bighorn) – perfectly cooked potato slices that were just shy of being full-on crispy chips!

And whenever I think of how magical potatoes are, it always makes me think of the animated series called “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.”

So here you go:

My Little Pony: Potatoes Are Magic

And by the way – you might remember that I used to RAVE about how good the food was at the Bighorn. We ate there literally at least once a week for several years.

So I was a bit nervous about how the food might have changed with new owners – and I am VERY happy to report that it is as good as – maybe even better? – than before!

Here’s an article from the Fairfield Sun-Times about the new owners.
