Once again, it’s a bit smoky and hazy in Great Falls – not as bad as yesterday, when we were in the “red” zone – today we are (so far) in the “yellow” zone.
The Photo Of The Day (above) is from late August of 2017, when the air quality was as bad as I’ve ever seen in Great Falls.
There is a flashing red “siren” light in my office, and Mike slapped the sign next to it 🙂
The Link Of The Day is to Know Your Meme – a virtual rabbit-hole of internetty meme history, explanations, timelines, and more. It goes back to the early days, and includes classics such as All Your Base, IKEA Monkey/I Should Buy A Boat, and Yes, This Is Dog. If you’ve ever where a meme originated and/or how it spread, this is the place to go.
The Song Of The Day is “What’s New” by Linda Ronstadt. The first time I heard her singing it was on an A&E TV show in 1987 – and this is the song that led me to love what are known as “American Standards” and/or “The Great American Songbook.” Without this song (and her other recordings with Nelson Riddle), I may not have ever come to appreciate Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, and so many other iconic singers. Thank you, Linda.
